One of the best books I am currently reading on how to design for WordPress is How to be a Rockstar WordPress Designer. An early scan of its 303 pages makes it a must read. I recommend it. There is a companion website as well. More details to follow as I plow through the chapters and examples.

Please Update Your Blog to WP 2.7.1
2.7.1, the first 2.7 maintenance release, is now available. 2.7.1 fixes 68 tickets. You can automatically upgrade from 2.7 to 2.7.1 via the Tools->Upgrade menu, or you can download the package and upgrade manually. Consult the list of fixed tickets and the full set of changes between 2.7 and 2.7.1 for details.

Hello WordPress Users,
I have exciting news to share. MyWPLife.com Newspaper is launching soon (in a few months) and I would like to provide each and every member with free Profiles and business advertising online and in the print edition. The only requirement is that you have attended at least one Chicago WordPress MeetUp Group meeting. If you haven’t attended a meeting plan to do so this year.
Profiles
In order to post your profile in the printed newspaper I will need two things:
The purpose of the Profiles are to educate everyone in the Chicago WordPress MeetUp Group and WordPress community about who you are, your WordPress websites and blogs, the services you provide and how you can be contacted. In turn this will help build a vibrant WordPress community here in Chicago.
